The leagues are is thoughtfully organised into different groups, ensuring you compete against players at your level. Beginners can relax knowing they won't face off against long-time experts. From rookies to seasoned veterans, there's a division for everyone!

About the League
City of Sails Backgammon League aims to give local players experience in extended point matches and the excitement of competitive league backgammon.
City of Sails Backgammon League is run and administered by Shore City Rollers Backgammon Club Inc
How It Works

Divisions consist of 4–5 players
-
Each season lasts three months, beginning and ending dates per season are as follows:

1st January to 25 March (Summer)

1st April to 25 June (Autumn)

1st July to 25 September (Winter)

1st October to 25 December (Spring)

Only matches played and reported before the deadline count

Deadlines will not be extended
Match Format

Each player plays two matches against every other player in their division

Shakers must be used (precision dice where available)

Baffle boxes preferred

Legal moves only

ANZBGF rules apply
Scoring

2 points for a win
-
1 point for a loss

Scores recorded in the For/Against column

Winning scores truncated to division match length
Promotion & Relegation

2 promotion spots per division

2 relegation spots per division
Prizes: Awarded to all division winners
League tables are updated weekly and published on the club website.
Playing Matches

Players must arrange matches themselves

Responsibility is shared between both players

Unplayed matches = no points awarded

Forfeits are not awarded
No-Shows

Three strikes = removal from the league

Must provide email evidence of arranged match
Reporting Results

Results must be emailed promptly

Both players should confirm or be copied in
Matches are expected to be played in person, not online.
League Tiebreakers
If players are tied on points:
a) Points difference (+/-)
b) Total points scored
c) Win rate
d) Longest winning streak / shortest losing streak
e) Head-to-head results
f) Second match wins
g) One-point playoff
If a playoff is not completed, players remain tied.
